Knights of Columbus: He was our Father

Father Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of
Columbus in 1882 while a parish priest at St. Mary’s in
New Haven. In 1884, Father McGivney was named pastor
of St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. While at St. Thomas,
he directed plays at the Thomaston Opera House and said
Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Terryville. In
2008, Father McGivney was named Venerable as his cause for Sainthood moves forward.
