Give Local 2025
April 29 - April 30
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We hope this note finds you well and that the arrival of spring brings joy and renewal to you and your loved ones.
At Landmark Community Theatre, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the ongoing love and generosity you’ve shown through the Give Local campaign. You have been the foundation of our work—making it possible for us to bring stories to life on stage, provide meaningful education to young artists, and cultivate a space where creativity and community come together.
This past year has not been without its challenges. As many of you know, our restoration efforts required us to cancel, reschedule, and relocate productions—each decision difficult, each moment a learning opportunity. Along the way, we faced additional costs for storage and transport, and like many arts organizations, we’ve felt the impact of reduced attendance and volunteer engagement. And yet, there is so much to be thankful for.
We are overjoyed to return to our home, the beautifully restored Thomaston Opera House. The ceiling has been completed, and by August, we look forward to unveiling new dressing rooms, green rooms, makeup spaces, and an elevator that will improve both accessibility and functionality for our casts and crews.
Despite the obstacles, we celebrated beautiful performances this year, including Love Letters and Rent, and launched an exciting new concert series that welcomed beloved tribute bands like Bleecker Street (Simon & Garfunkel), Another Tequila Sunrise (Eagles), and Floydian Trip (Pink Floyd). Your applause, your presence, and your encouragement gave these events life.
Looking ahead, our upcoming season is filled with hope and heart. In honor of Thomaston’s 150th anniversary, we’re proud to present Our Town, a timeless reminder to cherish the everyday. We’ll bring magic and laughter with Shrek the Musical, stir the soul with Fiddler on the Roof, and celebrate the holidays with the classic Miracle on 34th Street. We’re also thrilled to welcome Troy Ramey of The Voice for a very special performance.
Perhaps most exciting is that our Landmark Youth Theatre has been selected to perform at the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) Youth Festival. Of the countless programs nationwide, ours is one of only seven chosen—and the only one representing Connecticut. We couldn’t be prouder of our young artists!
Meanwhile, renovations continue. With your help, we plan to begin the next phase: restoring the stage and walls of the Opera House with care and reverence for its historic beauty. Our vision is a space that reflects the heart of Thomaston—vibrant, welcoming, and alive with possibility.
Your support during this year’s Give Local campaign will help us complete these efforts. When you give, you’re not just donating—you’re helping write the next chapter of our story. You’re lifting young voices, preserving a local treasure, and strengthening a community where art belongs to everyone.
Giving is simple: Donate HERE between 7 a.m. on April 29th and 7 p.m. on April 30th or you can call our Business Office 860-283-8558 to donate over the phone
Each dollar you contribute is eligible for matching funds and bonus prizes provided by the Connecticut Community Foundation, helping your generosity go even further. Our digital programs will recognize all annual fund donors throughout the season as a token of appreciation. It’s a small way for us to say a very big “thank you.”
From all of us at Landmark, thank you for standing by us, believing in what we do, and being part of this incredible journey.
