LCT Tween Theater Program

LCT is excited to expand the Youth Education Classes with the addition of a Tween Theater program running June 20th through September 5th for a total of 11 weeks. Classes will meet 2 - 3 times per week and conclude with performances for the public on September 4th and 5th. Rehearsal days are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings but may change based on participants availability. Participants should be between the ages of 12 and 16 years old. No prior experience is necessary.

Participants will be required to memorize scenes, songs, and choreography for the final performances. Instructors will incorporate technical theater education into rehearsals, covering topics such as basic theater terminology, theater etiquette, costume design, prop design, and audition preparation to ensure students receive a well-rounded educational experience. As performances approach, the final week of August through September 5th will be dedicated to production week, including technical run-throughs and dress rehearsals, culminating in two live performances for a public audience on September 4th and 5th, 2026. All weekly rehearsals will take place at our two locations: our theater within the Thomaston Opera House, and our off-site rehearsal facility at 9 Center Street, Thomaston, CT.
