A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters" is an innovative play that chronicles the lifelong relationship between Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III through their intimate written correspondence. From childhood through adulthood, their letters reveal two distinctive personalities—Melissa, a free-spirited artist, and Andrew, a traditional lawyer—as they navigate life's complexities, missed opportunities, and enduring connection. Uniquely staged with actors reading their letters side by side, the play explores the profound ways human relationships evolve, showcasing how written communication can capture the nuanced depths of love, friendship, and personal longing.
Each performance will feature a man and woman portraying the two characters from the play. Saturday, April 5th at 8 PM will feature performers Adam Dziob and Brianne Lopez. Sunday, April 6th at 2 PM will feature Litchfield County residents Bill Starr and Lynne Wilson.
